I want to extend my congratulations to all the students who are graduating this year. You have worked hard to achieve this goal and should take pride in your achievement. While this year’s graduation is not being celebrated in the same way as graduations in the past, it is no less a time for your loved ones to celebrate your success and for you to look toward the future.
Today, we surpassed 1000 deaths from COVID-19 in Toronto. My deepest condolences go to the loved ones of the deceased. I join you in wishing the people that are going through COVID-19 at the present a quick recovery.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day serves to remind us that seniors citizens can be the subject of abuse – physical, mental and/or financial. It important that we recognize that Elder Abuse is a growing problem and that we should report any instance of Elder Abuse to the proper authorities – Crime Stoppers at 1-800‑222-8477; the Seniors Safety Line at 1-866‑299-1011; the Long-Term Care ACTION Line at 1-866-434-0144; or the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority at 1-855-ASKRHRA (275- 7472).
City of Toronto staff will be presenting a report to the June meeting of City Council with respect to whether or not wearing a face mask should be mandatory when a person is out in public.
