On Monday, the Toronto Newcomer Office will host Toronto Newcomer Day at City Hall and Nathan Phillips Square. Mayor John Tory will welcome newcomers to Toronto and celebrate their contributions. He will be joined by Laura Albanese, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Councillor Jim Karygiannis (Ward 39 Scarborough Agincourt), the City of Toronto’s Newcomer Advocate, and Councillor James Pasternak (Ward 10 York Centre), Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee.

Please bring your unused and unwanted household items and you will help to:
- Extend the life of a product by offering it to someone for reuse;
- Reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and ensure that it properly recycled; and,
- Ensure that hazardous waste materials are disposed of safely.
Please do not bring: construction waste, gasoline, garbage, wood, cassette and videotapes, commercial/industrial hazardous waste and scrap metal.
