Re: Toronto Island Airport
Dear Mr. Trudeau;
I am writing further to comments in the media by one of your MPs regarding the Toronto Island Airport.
Mr. Adam Vaughan has been noted in the Toronto press as stating: Porter push for island airport jets is dead, says Adam Vaughan
The article continues: “Vaughan, who was chair of the Liberal GTA caucus before the election, said Trudeau signed off on his platform that included no island airport expansion.”
Toronto City Council supports Karygiannis’ Motion to urge Parliament to create The Canadians with Disabilities Act

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to members of the Canadian Nigerian community on the occasion of Nigerian Independence Day.
Following World War II, a movement towards Nigerian nationalism grew and there were increasing demands for independence. The British Government responded by legislating successive constitutions that resulted in Nigeria moving closer to self-government.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to members of the Canadian Cypriot community on the occasion of Cyprus Independence Day.
On February 19, 1959, Greece, Turkey, the United Kingdom and Cyprus were signatories to The Zurich and London Agreement, which formed the basis of the Cypriot Constitution. Following the signing of the accord, Cypriot President, Archbishop Makarios III said “Έλληνες Κύπριοι, νενικήκαμεν!” (“Greek Cypriots, we have won!”).

I am attaching two items of importance that I would ask you to consider when you make your decision about voting on Uber.
Uber has been going around stating that its drivers should be the ones who must register to pay for HSTand that drivers do not need to pay anything if they earn less than $30,000 per year.
Attached you will find a 1991 GST Guide for Taxis and Limos which, on last page, clearly states:
“All taxi and limousine fares will be taxable. This means all independent taxi and limousine drivers must register for the GST, regardless of their annual taxable revenues.”
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to members of the Canadian Chinese community on the occasion of The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as The Moon Festival.
The festival dates back 3,000 years and is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. The date parallels the Autumnal Equinox in the solar calendar, when the moon is at its roundest and fullest.
Toronto – Councillor Jim Karygiannis had his fears confirmed when he read the terms and conditions of the Uber website https://www.uber.com/legal/can/terms which contains the following statement:
“The quality of the transportation services requested through the use of the Application or the Service is entirely the responsibility of the Transportation Provider who ultimately provides such transportation services to you. Uber under no circumstance accepts liability in connection with and/or arising from the transportation services provided by the Transportation Provider or any acts, actions, behaviour, conduct, and/or negligence on the part of the Transportation Provider. Any complaints about the transportation services provided by the Transportation Provider should therefore be submitted to the Transportation Provider.”
