April 13, 2016 – Ward 39 Spring Update

Dear Constituents,

Don Valley Parkway From Gardiner Expy To Hwy 401
Friday Apr. 15, 2016 to Monday Apr. 18, 2016

Details: The Don Valley Parkway from the Gardiner Expressway to Highway 401 will be closed for Spring Maintenance activities. A rain date of April 29 to May 1 has been set, in which case the DVP will re-open early to improve traffic conditions during the Goodlife Marathon, scheduled for May 1.

March 4, 2016 – Break and enters incidents

Dear Constituents,

Break and enters incidents

I have been made aware that incidents of break and enters are again happening in private homes in our area.

Last year, my office held a very successful town hall meeting that addressed community safety issues – with over 300 residents of Ward 39 attending.

In the near future, we will holding another town hall meeting on crime prevention.

February 21, 2016 – Ward 39 Update – Labour News 2016 City Budget and National Flag Day Celebration

Dear Constituents,

In the last week, there have been significant developments in the City of Toronto.

Labour negotiations between the City and unions representing its outside and inside workers intensified.

Councillors passed the 2016 City of Toronto Budget. I voted against the overall budget increase; introduced a Motion to have funds dedicated for the Scarborough Subway and transit improvements north of the 401; and, introduced a Motion to increase funding for the City’s Student Nutrition Program.
