May 12, 2019 – Neighbourhood Email Blast
May 2019 Neighbourhood Email Blast
Spring is here! With the arrival of warmer days in Toronto, my office has pieced together a Ward Report detailing upcoming community events, construction projects and general goings-on around Ward 22, Scarborough-Agincourt. Please take a moment to read the latest Ward Report at the following link: http://karygiannis.net/wp/2019/05/09/may-9-2019-ward-report-2019/ . A physical copy of this Ward Report is in the mail to your household to be delivered next week.
Community Environment & Compost Day – May 19th, 2019
I will also be hosting the first of two Community Environment Days this year on Sunday, May 19th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Bridlewood Mall South East Parking Lot (2900 Warden Avenue, Scarborough, ON M1W 2S8). Please feel welcome to bring any small electronics and household hazardous items to be donated or safely disposed of. Free compost will be available for pickup, while supplies last (limit of one car trunkload per household).
School Zone Traffic Calming Measures
Over the past six months, I have also actively engaged with many of Scarborough-Agincourt’s schools regarding school zone traffic calming measures. A number of petitions requesting traffic calming measures be implemented around neighbourhood school zones have been circulated and have been met with enthusiastic responses from parents and community members.
At the upcoming Scarborough Community Council meeting, I will be requesting the first traffic calming measures to be installed at two of our community schools: Brookmill Boulevard Junior Public School and Vradenburg Junior Public School. If you are a parent and or resident of the area and want to come and make deputation in support of these measures to the upcoming Community Council meeting on Wednesday May 22nd, 9:30am at the Scarborough Civic Centre (150 Borough Drive) please contact me at 416 392 1374 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
As your City Councillor, traffic calming and safety measures have always been a priority for me and my office. We look forward to continuing work with our neighbourhood schools in ensuring the safety of children and residents. If your school would like to start a petition for school zone traffic calming measures, please contact my office at 416-392-1374 or through e-mail at email@example.com .
I would like to offer warm regards to all Canadians who are observing this holy month.
