September 24, 2018 – Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to members of the Canadian Chinese community on the occasion of The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as The Moon Festival.
The festival dates back 3,000 years and is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. The date parallels the Autumnal Equinox in the solar calendar, when the moon is at its roundest and fullest.
The festival is a time to enjoy the results of a bountiful harvest and admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, with family and friends.
