Community Compost Day 2018

I would like to invite everyone in our community to join us for our 4th annual Compost Day. Come out, bring your bags and gather compost for your gardens. I look forward to seeing you there!

Location: Bridlewood Mall (North-West Corner), 2900 Warden Ave

 

Toronto Kaiteur Lions Club Electronics Recycling Event

Bring your electronics for recycle to the 3rd Annual Electronic Recycling Collection Event, co-hosted by the Toronto Kaiteur Lions Club and Ontario Electronics Stewardship. Clothes and textiles will also be accepted for recycle.

 

Event Details:

Date: Saturday June 2nd, 2018

Time: 9:00am to 3:00pm

Location: L’Amoreaux Community Centre, 2000 McNicoll Ave

 

Please note that large appliances such as fridges, stoves, washers or dishwashers will not be accepted for recycling. Please consult www.recycleyourelectronics.ca for more information on accepted appliances for recycling.

 

L’Amoreaux Tennis Centre Renovations

The L’Amoreaux Tennis Centre will be undergoing renovation work to replace the existing tennis bubble and to resurface the bubble courts. This work is scheduled to take place from mid-May 2018 to mid-September 2018. During this time, the Tennis Centre will remain open and both outdoor and building courts will be available for booking.

Toronto Newcomer Day

I am honoured to serve as Toronto’s Newcomer Advocate on City Council. Newcomers contribute to Toronto’s vibrancy and diversity, and I am proud of the work that we do to help them integrate and find success in our city.

 

With that in mind, I would like to invite you to the City of Toronto’s 4th annual Toronto Newcomer Day. This event has always been a celebration of Canadian diversity and values, as well as being a great day of fun and entertainment. This year’s Newcomer Day will feature information booths, family entertainment, a tour of City Hall and more. Entrance is free.

Luminato 2018

Founded in 2007, Luminato celebrates the best of Toronto’s performance, media and visual arts and features a variety of talks, arts performances and showcases across Toronto. As the festival continues to evolve, this year’s Luminato festival is also expanding into features on human rights, equality, and global justice.

Are you thinking about renovating? The City’s Home Energy LoanProgram (HELP) offers low-interest loans of up to $75,000 to homeowners interested in improving the energy and water efficiency of their homes.

 

The funds can be used to upgrade your furnace, purchase insulation, water heater, windows, doors, and even install solar panels on your roof! You’ll repay the loan over time as you save on energy. On average, HELP participants are saving $560 per year and using 30% less energy.
