You are invited to a Community Flag Raising Ceremony Friday, February 14, 2018 10:00 am

February 15, 2017, marks the 52nd anniversary of National Flag Day in Canada when we celebrate this enduring emblem of what it means to be a proud Canadian.  On February 15, 1965, Canada’s red and white maple leaf flag flew for the very first time.

To mark the occasion, I am pleased to invite you to attend a Community Flag Raising Ceremony.  The event will be held:

It is reported that:
– on Monday, February 5, 2018, at 8:40 p.m., a 27-year-old man was driving a vehicle in the Burnt Bark Drive and Sanwood Boulevard area

Celebrate Family Day with Parks Forestry and Recreation

Celebrate Family Day with us! You can enjoy a variety of free outdoor and indoor activities at locations across Toronto on Monday, February 19.

City-run recreation facilities offer Family Day programming for the whole family. Activities include cooking, drumming and dance lessons, crafts and board games, and as well sports and family fitness classes. Children must be accompanied by an adult for all activities.

Leisure swimming will be available at many indoor pools on Family Day. City-run leisure swims are free of charge for everyone.

There are 52 outdoor rinks or skating trails to choose from across the city, weather permitting. Many indoor arenas will also be open. There is no charge for public skating at the City’s indoor arenas and outdoor rinks.

City of Toronto has issued interim property tax bills

The City of Toronto has mailed the 2018 interim property tax bills – the first of two tax bills that will be mailed this year. The 2018 final tax bill will be mailed in May.

Payment due dates for the interim tax bills under the three-instalment plan are March 1, April 3 and May 1. For property owners who enrol in the Pre-Authorized Tax Payment (PTP) program before February 5, 2018, the 2018 interim tax due dates are:

  •       Two-instalment plan: March 1
  •       Six-instalment plan: March 1, April 3, May 1
  •       Eleven-instalment plan: February 15, March 15, April 16, May 15, June 15            Read more…


Finch Corridor Trail – Birchmount Road to Pharmacy Avenue

A public drop-in event about this project took place on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the L’Amoreaux Community Centre, 2000 McNicoll Avenue regarding the plan to build a multi-use trail along the Finch Hydro Corridor from Birchmount Road to Pharmacy Avenue in Summer/Fall 2018. This trail connection will run 1.6 km within the hydro corridor on the south side of McNicoll Avenue

The trail will provide a safe route for cyclists, pedestrians and other trail users. See the Public Consultation tab for more information about opportunities to provide feedback about this project, including the online feedback survey.   Public Consultation Survey
