February 19, 2016 – Labour News from the City of Toronto

The City of Toronto has reached a tentative agreement with the Toronto Civic Employees’ Union Local 416 (CUPE), which represents the City’s 4,200 outside workers.

Details of the agreement will be released once it is ratified by the membership of Local 416 and subsequently approved by City Council. City of Toronto services and programs continue as usual.

Presently, bargaining with Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 79, which represents approximately 21,000 City inside workers, continues.

I will keep you updated on the outcome of these negotiations.

My hope is that both parties arrive at a fair and reasonable agreement and that there is no disruption to the services residents of Ward 39 rely on every day.
